Art in Everyday Life

Trish Bee:http://artbuzz.wordpress.com/wants evidence of pictures taken of "something that moves you or catches your eye, something which looks artistic, a natural beauty which hasn't been staged or posed in any way. No people or pets for this - try to think of every day objects or things in nature…it could be the leaves on the ground, flowers, clouds or even litter on the floor."
Just a quick candid shot of something which grabs your attention and stirs your muse in some way or another.

I am not sure if these pictures fit Trish's challenge, but if not I hope you enjoy viewing them anyway.

I was away on holidays and took some pics of my favourite places. No matter how many times I visit , I am always in awe of the beauty of nature and never tire of returning to them time and again.

The last three pictures were taken in my yard.

Lake Louise -Banff National Park, still covered with ice

Jasper National Park. Taken from the Sky Tram on the way up to the top of Whistler

Athabasca Falls, Jasper National Park. I have been there many times and I am always in awe at the power of nature.

Another picture at the bottom of the falls showing a log jam.

If you look closely, you will see the tiny hummingbird beside the feeder. These tiny birds are so fast that they are really difficult to photograph. This was taken at the Enchanted Forest in British Columbia

This pic is a little piece of grass popping through the dry earth in the back yard where nothing ever grows

Tag your it

On one of my groups we are doing a monthly swap where one person gets to choose a theme and we all make something small (i.e nothing elaborate) and send it to the person.

The first one is for Carol C and the theme is Travel/vacation. I decided to use some of my paper from my handmade backgrounds and created a tip-in page.

Not sure if she does tip-ins but hope she will like it.

Latest tip-in page

The theme for the current tip-in page is Men. I don't have many masculine stamps or ephemera, so this took me a while to come up with something appropriate.

The front page is quite simple, and I could not think of anything else to add, but maybe in this case less is more!!

The back seemed to come together quite easily and I am pleased with it.
Just hope my future partner will like it.

More little beauties

The latest theme was Birds in our Little Beauties swap. This was a good opportunity for me to use some stamps that I have not used in a while as well as some new ones I just bought. The new ones are the framed birds by Magenta and the swirly ones are by Hero Arts.

The one with the birdhouse is a rub on which I embossed with clear and blue hidden colour embossing powders.

Playing around

On one of my groups there is a swap to make 4 connected ATC's. It is quite a challenge and I felt a bit intimidated after looking at a couple of examples on some blogs!!

I thought I would give it a whirl anyway and this is what I came up with. I am still debating about joining the swap as I am not sure if I "got it right".
