It has been so long since I have posted anything on my blog. So much happened in the last couple of years, health issues with my husband and I, and the sudden death of our son. <br />
<br />
I stopped creating for a while and am now just getting back into it again. I started a couple of art journals and finally some cards. <br />
<br />
Have taken some classes to get myself back into the mood and thoroughly enjoyed them. <br />
<br />
<br />
Here are some of the Journal pages that I have created.:<br />
<br />
<br />
The background was created with Dylusions paints. The flowers are Tim Holtz stamps and stencils. The saying is stamped with an Impression Obsession Stamp set.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC9hyphenhyphenvaI-zpBuEOthjpFoJh7vcdlMXBWznlQpvF951wUuTSyDZuzgVARN4pkITCU-78cFoW5KUvCoKWQgt9emAALJg7k2WksH5ROIqPlTifk6lw_cep7W6NvRRUVa5XN7pYvzRt-V_HFpQ/s1600/bloom.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="227" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC9hyphenhyphenvaI-zpBuEOthjpFoJh7vcdlMXBWznlQpvF951wUuTSyDZuzgVARN4pkITCU-78cFoW5KUvCoKWQgt9emAALJg7k2WksH5ROIqPlTifk6lw_cep7W6NvRRUVa5XN7pYvzRt-V_HFpQ/s320/bloom.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The background on this was done with several different colours of distress inks. Added texture with a circle template and stencils, with modeling paste. Stamped various images and words around the page. Finally added the images of children and the words. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibNy3RTB1Hpa0sefH2lWmFFjW_6w_RH0EuzZYY-WTgM92OKPauwC-G4QoUf4o5efjkabSnZTuqzTg9nubl0udX-sRte-JgTYa9IcwLCTSzAyS-RYhU_APf2Nr4f4o84MoZ1IRCW9zeU4lB/s1600/children.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="230" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibNy3RTB1Hpa0sefH2lWmFFjW_6w_RH0EuzZYY-WTgM92OKPauwC-G4QoUf4o5efjkabSnZTuqzTg9nubl0udX-sRte-JgTYa9IcwLCTSzAyS-RYhU_APf2Nr4f4o84MoZ1IRCW9zeU4lB/s320/children.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is a page that I had started in a journaling class. I wasn't paying attention when I stencilled the crows on the page, and then realized that I had my page upside down! So I decided to use my<a href="http://timholtz.com/prod_cat/cling-mount-sets/" target="_blank"> Tim Holtz</a> Crazy Bird stamps and stencils and some die cut clouds to the layout.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This page background was done with Tim Holtz Distress paints, Dylusions Stencils, and different modelling pastes. The hearts were done with a Scrapbook template. The butterfly is one of my favourite stamps by<a href="http://www.magentastyle.com/" target="_blank"> Magenta</a></div>

I stamped the Penny Black stamp in the centre with Tsukineko Versafine Deep Lagoon. I added a piece of Tim Holtz tissue tape on the left edge and coloured it with both inks. ArtVentures for June, the colour is Gold. I perceive this as a rich and wealthy colour.</div>

I was lucky enough to take a class with the wonderful <a href="http://tworzysko.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Finnabair</a>. What an enjoyable day we had!! She is a great teacher and explained each step, then gave us lots of time to complete the process. A huge kit was provided (included in the price of the class) as well as all the mediums were available for the project.<br />
<br />
I would highly recommend her classes if you are interested in mixed media. I can not of course give you the details as this is how she makes her living. The class I took was the Daydreamer Collage and we were free to use whatever embellishments and colours we wanted. I normally gravitate towards blues and greens but decided to go with different colours, so chose blue and purples with a touch of gold and orange.<br />

This month the pennant has the same background fabric adhered to the base. For February the theme is the magic of glitter.<br />
<br />
I came across some trim that had hearts on it and thought since Valentine's Day is in February that it would be perfect. I actually added the trim and some other embellishments but was not happy with it because it was to dark a blue and did not seem "vintage" enough, so back to the drawing board. <br />
<br />
I threw the trim in a bucket of water with bleach and it removed enough of the colour to make it a light pink/lilac. I attached it to the edge of the pennant. <br />
<br />
As with the previous one I had an image already printed and wanted to choose colour tones from the picture, so the lighter colours were better suited. I took a large snowflake die and added glitter to it and glued it to the top of the pennant, then attached the image with some stickles added. <br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
I stamped the sentiment "<em>Dreamer" </em>with white pigment ink on a piece of white cardstock and embossed it with white embossing powder. I then coloured it with Milled Lavender distress ink and buffed it off; rounded the edges with a punch and attached it to the pennant. To finish it off I added a snowflake die and a button with a gem on top and dangling heart at the bottom.</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
On AFTCM we are doing an ongoing swap covering 12 months where we produce a pennant with a vintage theme, using basically the same background but a different image etc each month. By the end of the year we will be able to put them all together to make a banner.</div>
<div align="left">
<br /></div>
<div align="left">
I had some fabric that was white so I filled a small bucket with boiling water and teabags and when it was dark enough, removed the teabags and put the fabric in overnight to stain it to a darker colour. </div>
<div align="left">
<br /></div>
<div align="left">
I cut a pennant shape from a cereal box and covered it with the fabric, then added a piece of lace at the top and some vintage looking trim around the edges.</div>
<div align="left">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: left;">
Printed off an image added some cardstock behind to make it more stable, cut it out and attached it to the pennant. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: left;">
Attached a snowflake embellishment with a pearl and two more pearls below. I felt that the bottom needed "something" and tried various things to dangle from it. I finally came across some little Christmas ornaments that I had in my stash and attached a silver one that looked like a finial. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture after I added this.</div>

<div align="left">
On AFTCM we did a tag swap using corrugated cardboard.</div>
<div align="left">
<br /></div>
<div align="left">
For mine I chose the image first (janetkdesignfreedigitalimages.blogspot) and then proceeded to work on the tag. </div>
<div align="left">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
First, I tore off some of the backing on the cardboard to expose the corrugated pieces. I decided to pick up some of the colours from the picture, so I painted it with white acrylic and Tim Holtz snow cap paints. I added some blue and pink Tim Holtz Distress paints in various areas. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
To add some interest and dimension I embossed the right side with an brass stencil and gold Viva Decor modelling cream. The reason I used gold is because it was the only colour I had at the time, but was pleased with the effect and I must say this stuff is a dream to work with!! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I attached the picture to a piece of scrap cardstock to give it some body then adhered it to the tag. To complete the tag, I added some glittered Stampendous snowflake die pieces and the gold and white fibres. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Another swap on AMCA is to make an ATC with a Christmas card - "recycle Christmas.<br />
<br />
I started by stamping a stampscapes hill scene on some glossy cardstock. Found a Christmas card with a vintage scene and fussy cut out some of the image and adhered it to the bottom of the ATC. I added two different colours of Stickles to simulate snow and ice. <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
On AMCA we are doing a monthly swap using different flowers as the theme. The January flower is a carnation. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I was sure I had a small carnation or a stamp with a carnation but no such luck, also all my printers are out of ink so couldn't print an image, as a result I had to improvise.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I took the Tim Holtz Tattered Flower die and die-cut several of the smallest flower, then trimmed the edges with decorative scissors and tinted the edges with chalk ink. I folded each one and bent the petals out, and attached them to a small circle of cardstock. Cut out a "leaf" by hand from a piece of green cardstock. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I had a background already set aside from a previous project so I added some washi tape to one side, attached the flower and leaf and a small sentiment. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sure hope my partner will be happy with my improvisation of the carnation.</div>

In ArtVentures the next colour perception is white. To me this colour is cool and pristine.<br />
<br />
I started with white cardstock and using a stencil and Viva Decor Mother of Pearl modelling cream I embossed part of the base. I added some white lace to the right-hand side. I cut out a die from a cuttlebug embossing folder from 120LB cardstock and adhered it to the centre of the ATC.<br />
<br />
I punched a circle from some lighter weight cardstock and coloured it with Moonlight Smooch ink by Clearsnap. I embossed the back and attached it to the centre of the die with some Scrap Dots (3-D glue) to allow it to keep it's shape, then placed it on the centre of the die.<br />
<br />
To add a bit more interest, I covered a piece of white scrap cardstock with Sookwang tape and covered it with Glitter Ritz white glitter, then punched out some little flower shapes with a hand punch. These were adhered to the ATC in a few areas using glue dots. To complete the card I added a little paper holder brad to the bottom.<br />

For the month of February the colour perception is Black in the ArtVentures ongoing swap. My emotion/perception for this is elegant and classy.<br />
<br />
I decided to do a "little black dress" as my focal point but thought I might have to scrap that idea since everyone of my printers are out of ink. Then I remembered that someone had sent me a dress stamp years ago, so I dug it out.<br />
<br />
I stamped the dress on some white cardstock and coloured it with a Copic black marker, leaving a couple of areas white for contrast. I felt it still needed something, so I added some black Puffs over the top of the skirt portion.<br />
<br />
To make the background, I wanted a bit of dimension so I stamped a Tim Holtz (Stampers Anonymous) stamp on some glossy black cardstock and embossed it with black embossing powder. Then I attached the little dress with double-sided foam tape.<br />
<br />
To finish the card I cut out a border from the Cuttlebug Ornamental Iron die, applied black pigment ink and then Black Christmas Mix embossing Powder and heat set it. This was placed on the edge of the ATC.<br />

I started a page by colouring the background with distress paints in a couple of different colours. I then stencilled some images with another colour of distress paint. I stamped some Dylusions stamps with the paint as well as Tim Holtz stamp. On the sides I stamped two more Tim Holtz stamps and Hero Arts stamps with Ancient Page Indigo ink. Then I did some "paper lifting" over some gessoed areas with newspaper pieces and coloured them with distress inks.</div>

I added some words using some magazine and stamped pieces coloured with the Distress inks and glued them to the page. I had a favourite butterfly image in my stash so I cut it out and attached it to the page and drew in the antennas.</div>

In the ongoing swap with ArtVentures the latest colour is grey, and as always, various shades and layering.<br />
<br />
I started by swiping the base cardstock with Pewter distress paint, then applied Tsukineko Flannel Gray Memento ink over it. The pewter acted as a resist so you can see a bit of sparkle when holding it up.<br />
<br />
I used a copic grey marker to colour some computer paper and stamped the Do Crafts stamp in Tsukineko Versafine Smokey Gray, cut around it, and applied to the base. (In hindsight, I think I should have done something different as this piece doesn't really blend in and seems to be hovering above the lady).<br />
<br />
I printed an image in grayscale that I got from <a href="http://thelastdoordownthehall.blogspot.ca/" target="_blank">Elizabeth's</a> blog, layered it on some cardstock, cut it out and attached below the previous stamped piece.<br />
<br />
I coloured some cardstock with a lighter grey copic and stamped the Inkadinkado Ruler stamp with the Versafine Smokey Gray ink, cut it to size and applied it with double-sided foam tape. <br />
<br />
To finish off my ATC, I rummaged through my stash of flowers and found some paper ones that I had for years. I had some silver and white ones. I coloured the white ones with the darker grey copic, attached them over the silver one. To complete it I added some tiny grey buttons from my button tin.<br />

The next colour in the ongoing swap on ArtVentures was Purple, using various shades of the colour and layering. My perception/emotion for this colour is <i>Mysterious.</i><br />
<br />
For this one I coloured the base with some purple ink then added Brilliance Pearlescent ink over the top. I stamped the Tim Holtz (Stampers Anonymous) Harlequin stamp, then added the Sentiment by Peddlers Pack.<br />
<br />
I stamped the Hampton Arts face on a scrap of white glossy cardstock and cut it out. Added some wings from a Stampendous butterfly stamp, then attached them to the base. <br />

In the ArtVentures ongoing swap of November the Colour is Violet. The pereption/emotion of this colour to me is <i>Powerful.</i><br />
<i><br /></i>I started by colouring the base with violet pigment ink then heat set it by ironing it between two sheets of newsprint paper. I then embossed it with a Tim Holtz embossing folder.<br />
<br />
I printed a freebie image from The Art of Altering and cut off the bottom and top portions, then coloured it with copics. <br />
<br />
I coloured some white glossy cardstock scraps with a violet copic and cut crowns from a spellbinders die. I coloured some little fancy gems with Rangers purple alcohol ink and attached them to the crowns.<br />
<br />
I glued the image to the base and attached the crown with double-sided foam tape.<br />
<br />
I coloured some white ribbon with plum dye ink and coloured a little sticker "gem" with alcohol ink and attached them to the neck of the man's shirt collar.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
On AFTCM, the latest theme for the October tags is Ink Splatters.<br />
<br />
I thought that White glossy paper would work best for this technique so I cut some tag shapes from it.<br />
<br />
For the <b>first tag</b> and for the first one I used alcohol inks.<br />
<br />
I dropped the inks on the cardstock then used compressed air to blow them around. The can was running out so I didn't achieve the same effect that Tim does when he demonstrates this technique, however, I am happy with it.<br />
<br />
Using Rangers Pitch Black archival ink, I stamped the Graphics 45 stamps on the tag. On a scrap piece of cardstock I stamped the PSX sentiment and attached it with double-sided foam tape.<br />
<br />
I outlined the edges of the tag with a red marker and attached some foil trim to the top. And of course, added a red reinforcement to the hole and strung some cording through it.<br />
<br />
For the <b>second tag</b>, I decided to use the Rangers (Tim Holtz) Distress Stains to create the ink splatters. I just thumped each colour down on the cardstock and they spread nicely.<br />
<br />
I stamped the <a href="http://shop.heroarts.com/p/timely-bird/cling-stamps_cling-stamps?pp=12" target="_blank">Hero Arts </a>stamp with archival ink then added the Magenta stamp at the bottom using the same ink. I coloured a piece of scrap cardstock with yellow dye ink, stamped the Hero Arts flower and cut it out. I attached this by the bird with double-sided foam tape.<br />
<br />
I outlined the edges with a black marker then added a green metallic reinforcement to the hole and attached the black and silver fibres.<br />
<br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: normal;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">For the month of October the colour is <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;"><b>Blue</b></span> and must be predominately that colour. <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: normal;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">I think of blue as a calm colour so that is the emotion/perception that my ATC evolved around. </span></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
On AFTCM we did a swap in September with the theme Shabby Chic' with a clay embellishment.</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
For the first tag I stamped a Hero Arts harlequin stamp on white cardstock with white pigment ink. I coloured over it with <a href="http://www.clearsnap.com/product-details.cfm?pigment-colorbox-petal-point-" target="_blank">Clearsnap Shabby Chic' pigment inks </a>in 3 different colours using a stylus and foam tip.</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
I punched some flower shapes from scrapbook paper with text on it and glued them together. I added some air dried clay circles to the centres, which I had stamped texture on and coloured with Mica Magic inks.</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
I outlined the edges with a coordinating coloured marker and attached lace to left-hand side and fibres to the top.</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJqBdKaQn5lyk3RjtAjAZbQL4rslIiMGdQC4TZKEqhhcv2d7XLoOElGGwmRh2shI70Mc5KSsWtozG6m6C0mrbdh15t9dUgfex6Ez40pceyx-B2UgbCPhMS1MiGoLqF-4_9cwPlqk6yg9Y/s1600/Shabby%252BChic%252Bwith%252Bairdry%252Bclay%252B2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJqBdKaQn5lyk3RjtAjAZbQL4rslIiMGdQC4TZKEqhhcv2d7XLoOElGGwmRh2shI70Mc5KSsWtozG6m6C0mrbdh15t9dUgfex6Ez40pceyx-B2UgbCPhMS1MiGoLqF-4_9cwPlqk6yg9Y/s320/Shabby%252BChic%252Bwith%252Bairdry%252Bclay%252B2.jpg" width="141" /></a></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
On the second tag I stamped a Penny Black floral stamp in white pigment ink and embossed it with white embossing powder. I coloured over it with the Shabby Chic pigment inks. </div>
</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
I added a piece of a doily at the bottom and some text scrapbook paper on the right, and coloured them with the pigment inks. I added a string of pearls and some lace. </div>
</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
I applied some Vintage Photo distress ink around the edges of the tag to add some depth.</div>
</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
The air dried clay piece was coloured with distress paint and attached near the bottom.</div>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggU-W4XVX0xcpcVzfmDyC440vv06F4knQvKoNjvszY5zRGg6Do_tSfCQ4Ui-5lNx8qwXQrmWEPjRhGQxuKDAKHdBXaVrcuGv0dtOy6OIRm8b1zuegj2kaMFIf0Mw5Rpilr_mOEoOI03EI/s1600/Shabby%252BChic%252Bwith%252Bairdry%252BCllay.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggU-W4XVX0xcpcVzfmDyC440vv06F4knQvKoNjvszY5zRGg6Do_tSfCQ4Ui-5lNx8qwXQrmWEPjRhGQxuKDAKHdBXaVrcuGv0dtOy6OIRm8b1zuegj2kaMFIf0Mw5Rpilr_mOEoOI03EI/s320/Shabby%252BChic%252Bwith%252Bairdry%252BCllay.jpg" width="176" /></a></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">
Due to a slight mix up on the group, I sent the tags to the wrong person so I made two more tags for the correct partner. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
On the first of the new tags, I coloured the tag with the Shabby Chic pigment inks the Stamp Smoosh technique, and a colorbox stylus and foam tip. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I stamped the image by Rubber Stampede in Rangers Black archival ink.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Took some Tim Holtz tissue tape, coloured it with the pigment inks and attached it on the lower portion of the tag and added lace above and below it. I glued the clay flower in place with some glue.</div>
<br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
I coloured scraps of white cardstock with the pigment inks and punched out a small circle, then punched a hole in the centre. Stamped over this with a text stamp and <a href="http://www.tsukineko.com/store/cart.php?m=product_list&c=70" target="_blank">Tsukineko Memento</a> Tuxedo Black ink. I placed this over the hole at the top of the tag as a reinforcement.</div>
<br />
The second tag may actually look more vintage than Shabby Chic, so hope my partner will like it anyway.<br />
<br />
I coloured the white tag with the Shabby Chic pigment inks, sandwiched it between two pieces of newsprint to heat set it. Stamped around the tag with a clear Magenta stamp.<br />
<br />
I coloured a piece of white lace with Lavendar fluid chalk ink, heat set it the same way as the tag and attached it at the bottom.<br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<br /></div>
I die cut a <a href="http://memoryboxco.com/dies.asp?i=100&s=100&p=3&c=8" target="_blank">Memory Box</a> Palace Oval frame, covered it with clear embossing ink and embossed it with Silver embossing powder, added some clear UTEE and let it cool. I went over it with some black acrylic paint then wiped it off.<br />
<br />
I printed an image from <a href="http://thelastdoordownthehall.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Elizabeth's blog </a> and die cut it using the same die. I inserted the picture in the middle of the die-cut and attached it to the tag.<br />
<br />
I glued a piece of velvet ribbon over the lace, attached some pearls and the clay piece which I adorned with some little gems. Must admit that the more I look at my "clay piece", I am thinking it might be a UTEE piece, so if it is hope my partner doesn't mind the substitution!!<br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi998RLGCleIuei6NFFK_DjiitF3hnsMKd-MFX_uc3ESF-a_CLP3dWA_n5WoKNP3uTwXecz9lmHdIB7_-h-kcMbCUWJfVNgjRGlvuR5I8zf_ZJnEUK_ZMG2d4j133bPdGxyHDpd4sUVRguf/s1600/Shabby+Chic+with+airdry+Cllay+replacements.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" closure_lm_210549="null" esa="true" height="287" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi998RLGCleIuei6NFFK_DjiitF3hnsMKd-MFX_uc3ESF-a_CLP3dWA_n5WoKNP3uTwXecz9lmHdIB7_-h-kcMbCUWJfVNgjRGlvuR5I8zf_ZJnEUK_ZMG2d4j133bPdGxyHDpd4sUVRguf/s320/Shabby+Chic+with+airdry+Cllay+replacements.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
I started with white cardstock and a Hero Arts flower stamp and used <a href="http://blog.clearsnap.com/2011/07/a-stamp-smoosh-tutorial/" target="_blank">Cathie Allan's "</a><i><a href="http://blog.clearsnap.com/2011/07/a-stamp-smoosh-tutorial/" target="_blank">Stamp Smoosh" </a></i><a href="http://blog.clearsnap.com/2011/07/a-stamp-smoosh-tutorial/" target="_blank">technique </a>with Olive Fluid chalk.</div>

I stamped the<a href="http://www.paperparachute.com/new_design/pages/stamps/flowers_nature/UMCS208.html" target="_blank"> Paper Parachute</a> floral stamp with green pigment ink and <a href="http://www.stampstampstamp.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=S&Product_Code=EP264&Category_Code=ep" target="_blank">Judikins</a> Forest twinkle embossing powder. <br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
To add some more detail I covered a piece of white cardstock with aquamarine fluid chalk, stamped a text stamp in green pigment ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I attached this to the right-hand side of the ATC.</div>

The colour Yellow was the one for the month of August in the ArtVentures ongoing colour perceptions ATC swap.<br />
<br />
To me, yellow is a happy colour, so I decided to build my ATC on that theme.<br />
<br />
The base was a light yellow cardstock. I took another piece of darker yellow cardstock, punched a fancy circle in it then stamped a floral background over it.<br />
<br />
I stamped the little bear by Little Suzy's Zoo on some white cardstock, coloured it with Copic markers and coloured the background with some Vivid yellow ink. I glued it behind the punched piece of cardstock and adhered it to the base.<br />
<br />
Using a Martha Stewart border punch I punched out two different shades of yellow and glued them to the bottom. I then stamped the sentiment and glued it to the top.<br />

On ArtVentures we are continuing on with the swap theme "colour perceptions", with each month being a different colour. For the month of July the colour is Orange and must be predominately that colour. Inspiration/theme is based on and emotion/how the colour us makes us feel.</div>

<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
I chose to colour the base with some light orange ink, stamped a Magenta background stamp in permanent ink. I stamped a saying in permanent ink on some orange tissue paper and glued it to the background.</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
To complete it, I added an orange flower, a little butterfly coloured in another shade of orange and some verigated rick-rack.<br />

<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
The colour orange made me think of pleasure.</div>

I am participating in a blog hop for Kat who is starting out with CTMH products. If you are interested in purchasing the products and don't have a local dealer please visit <br />
<a href="http://katancheta.ctmh.com/">http://katancheta.ctmh.com/</a><br />
<br />
For my projects I used the Pinwheel stamp set and some of the Reflections Dream Pop papers.<br />
<br />
My first project is a card for my Son's birthday next month. I started by colouring a piece of white cardstock with various colours of pigment inks, then stamped some stars at the top with Alabaster fluid chalk ink. I outlined the edges with a black marker then attached it to a piece of grey cardstock with a clear resist pattern printed on it and layered it on a piece of black cardstock.<br />
<br />
I stamped the small pinwheels on a piece of the Reflections Dream Pop patterned paper with a black stamp pad, cut them out and added a brad to the centre. I stamped the little "stick" to add to the pinwheels. <br />
<br />
I printed a picture of my son, outlined it with the black marker and adhered it to the front panel. and attached the pinwheels. I attached a strip of the grey resist cardstock at the bottom. Stamped the sentiment and coloured the stars with a glitter gel pen and attached it with double-sided foam tape.<br />
To complete the card I stamped two stars and coloured them with the gel pen. <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3ehsT6mjU8G738gBYsqeooYjhiRDqxWp5fvXcc2WlcIAQ5hn243UvNzP2H-0xB2Nplj8SyxCoT6cXjLgj27oZJJAUNSyjLj6Mr9rKzSAIH_0zgfmUI_AUhzmKC8IV7k01J-MXb-J0Yn0/s1600/card+for+Kat's+blog+hop.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" cya="true" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3ehsT6mjU8G738gBYsqeooYjhiRDqxWp5fvXcc2WlcIAQ5hn243UvNzP2H-0xB2Nplj8SyxCoT6cXjLgj27oZJJAUNSyjLj6Mr9rKzSAIH_0zgfmUI_AUhzmKC8IV7k01J-MXb-J0Yn0/s320/card+for+Kat's+blog+hop.jpg" width="224" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I decided to do a second project using a canvas. I started by finding a picture that I liked which is a freebie from a blog and based the colour palette on the picture.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I painted the canvas with different shades of purple acrylics and added a bit of white acrylic around it. When dry I placed a stencil on the canvas and added molding paste, and coloured it with Smooch ink. When it dried, added the picture with gel medium underneath and over the top and framed it with the little stamped pieces from the pinwheel set.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
When looking at the stamp set, I thought that the little pinwheels could be used as flowers. So I stamped several in different colours, cut them out and layered them and attached a button. I added some embossing powder to the edges to give it some dimension. I cut out the sentiment from another piece of Reflections Dream Pop patterned paper and glued it to the bottom and added the flowers around the picture.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I decided to do one more project using all the lovely decorative papers and settled on a file folder book. I used several different papers and sentiments. I also made tags from the scraps. </div>

On ArtVentures we are starting a new ongoing swap theme "colour perceptions", with each month being a different colour. For this we must think layers of the colour and must be predominatelythe colour for that month. Inspiration/<wbr></wbr>theme is based on and emotion/how the colour us makes us feel,<br />
<br />
For this month the colour is red, and this colour made me think of love and passion.<br />
<br />
I took a piece of glossy white cardstock and coloured it with Sangria <a href="http://www.jacquardproducts.com/pinata-alcohol-ink.html" target="_blank">Piñata Alcohol Ink</a> and pounced it on with Caro extender and a felt pad.<br />
<br />
I coloured some white cardstock with Lipstick Red Fluid Chalks then cut out the Memory Box curly wreath. I had printed off some pictures of lovers previously so I also cut them out with the die and placed it in the centre of the curly wreath on the ATC.<br />
<br />
I punched some heart from 130LB cardstock and layered 3 together to give them some body, and coloured them with a red marker. I melted some clear UTEE and added some garnet Heat-it-Inks, dipped the hearts in it and when dry added a little flower gem. <br />
<br />
I attached a piece of Sookwang tape to the bottom of the ATC and covered it with Fire Red and burnished it and attached the heart to the side. <br />
<br />
I coloured some white cardstock with Red Pepper Adirondack ink and stamped the PSX Pixie Expressions stamp in Versfine Onyx Black and attached it to the glitter piece with double-sided foam tape.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHYgGP2-ha3PG2dfAvb5WQjADDS1fK8g22n1nrAchWPa1qP8cA8B7OskA8vw7jVdlwH84Fi01oJbL9Kc39A4AoPYBbpZcDrA3Yu_73bNfQw-QuS3_V5aKjSI0X8gnRcbsmq0v5wiqfd6U/s1600/Red.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" cya="true" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHYgGP2-ha3PG2dfAvb5WQjADDS1fK8g22n1nrAchWPa1qP8cA8B7OskA8vw7jVdlwH84Fi01oJbL9Kc39A4AoPYBbpZcDrA3Yu_73bNfQw-QuS3_V5aKjSI0X8gnRcbsmq0v5wiqfd6U/s320/Red.jpg" width="224" /></a></div>

On AFTCM we did a swap where we altered a Pringles potato chip can with a steampunk theme.<br />
<br />
For mine I covered the can with some scrapbook paper. For the top portion I embossed some flashing tape then added some alcohol inks to give it some color. <br />
<br />
<strong> </strong>I had some Graphics 45 steampunk papers and cut out several images and attached them with double- sided foam tape. I added some tiny roses to the two ladies heads. <br />
<br />
Glued some cogs, a watch face and some other items around the can. Stamped a ticket and a sentiment and attached it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyQLJlzpFzzQ8I5lTcbScMBe9RkYeR7Y6-8XS2q9CMdGCGEsB6UmdofE29f645BqxU2vD_j6t3FwshAhUd9Z_F5PmuBvmH4OS01xd4PHqxh-7NrMVdUiOG6GU_g1PpN-P-Goii2m8P3ks/s1600/Boot+Pringles+can.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" cya="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyQLJlzpFzzQ8I5lTcbScMBe9RkYeR7Y6-8XS2q9CMdGCGEsB6UmdofE29f645BqxU2vD_j6t3FwshAhUd9Z_F5PmuBvmH4OS01xd4PHqxh-7NrMVdUiOG6GU_g1PpN-P-Goii2m8P3ks/s1600/Boot+Pringles+can.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRsz_oA_YKvwoRa5NawhpJCKuU43qobd5jfnpvxy7bqpk_03QVOKHxuciplF7FnXcYU8o3oCQxfUL2Fp7B53kzAEHoi_vt415WomnhTWiKWy4itrQc9-W-Wp9HFINDBPBhAv1fAxjalbw/s1600/Pringles+can+Balloon+ladyJPG.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" cya="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRsz_oA_YKvwoRa5NawhpJCKuU43qobd5jfnpvxy7bqpk_03QVOKHxuciplF7FnXcYU8o3oCQxfUL2Fp7B53kzAEHoi_vt415WomnhTWiKWy4itrQc9-W-Wp9HFINDBPBhAv1fAxjalbw/s1600/Pringles+can+Balloon+ladyJPG.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsi-_mbBJ4ZcLPrgwt6Bok3mbhfJNNLKbNUHQGj3xcIVxQRWC667CcvbcXjWxpx22pjmKEFOzW3pZLFBL17SWT0Ka4oEHb3lh3N4T8BZ4Vuwl2EjFgMpRKkUdUcbd_v33Ziy_p2vcWyyU/s1600/Pringles+can+cage+lady.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" cya="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsi-_mbBJ4ZcLPrgwt6Bok3mbhfJNNLKbNUHQGj3xcIVxQRWC667CcvbcXjWxpx22pjmKEFOzW3pZLFBL17SWT0Ka4oEHb3lh3N4T8BZ4Vuwl2EjFgMpRKkUdUcbd_v33Ziy_p2vcWyyU/s1600/Pringles+can+cage+lady.jpg" /></a></div>
I covered the lid with the same scrapbook paper that I had used to cover the can. <br />
<br />
I had discovered a video on Youtube using the Tim Holtz movers and shapers mini clock die ( sorry can't find the link right now) and decided that I would do a steampunk version to put on top of the lid.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I cut the die 6 times out of some medium weight chip board then painted the outside portion black. Colored the hands with a silver paint pen and embossed the "bells", top and legs with copper embossing powder. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I cut the legs off two of the pieces and sandwiched them in the middle. I inserted a piece of acrylic and some scrapbook paper behind the front piece and another piece of acrylic and a pocket watch face on the back piece. Then I glued them all together. I added some tiny cogs on the outside of the front. I glued a large cog to to a piece of popsicle stick then atached the clock. I then added some large gears to hide it and help keep it in place and finished it with a couple of gold dewdrops on the side.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
