Fish Tip-in

The latest Tip-In theme was Fish and I chose to go whimsical, a I am sure it was not meant to be a page with fish and water.

I started out by colouring the page with Brilliance Sky Blue ink then added the Inkadinkadoo stamp around the edges in Versafine Black. I didn't like the look, so I then added a dark blue pigment ink over it.


I had some Cuttlebug embossed pieces that I had done a few weeks ago and chose the circle one to colour with the Brilliance Sky Blue ink and put it in the middle. I then added the fish image and the little girl talking on the phone.

This reverse side was painted with some turquoise metallic paint. I added the Jelly Fish image from Dover Arts. I Then glued a fish to the little girl and attached it to the Jelly Fish.

Made some bubbles with a dot stamp and white pigment ink. Added fake sand at the bottom and some fish swimming above the little girl.

Silver/Gold/Bronze tip-in

I just finished off the latest tip-in for CC Swaps; the theme this month being Silver/Gold/Bronze.


I had an idea in mind using my Cuttlebug. I had some Gold paper that was an insert in something I bought so I put it through the cuttlebug embossing folder twice so I had a larger piece. This was attached to the middle of the front page.


Then I took a piece of silver card stock and put it through the Cuttlebug and cut it into pieces to put around the edges of the gold section. I then stamped an image with a clear embossing ink pad and embossed it with metallic bronze embossing powder. This was adhered to the middle of the front page. I added some "rivets" to finish it off.



I was not sure what to do with the back page, so I just grabbed a piece of black card stock and my gold and bronze embossing powders and sprinkled them over the page and embossed them.


To continue the theme I stamped some swirl stamps over the page with platinum ink and embossed with silver embossing powder.


I added some pieces of the embossed cuttlebug silver pieces in the corner. I then stamped and embossed some patterned circles with the bronze embossing powder and adhered them to the little squares.



The final touch was to stamp a saying with gold metallic ink and embossed it with gold embossing powder. I edged it with a Krylon gold leafing pen and attached it with double-sided foam tape.

Africa Tip-in

The latest theme for the Tip-in pages is Africa. I had made a page with the Cuttlebug pasted technique earlier and gave it to a friend. I decided to do the same image for the Africa page as it is one of my favourite stamps. This page has more orange tones compared to the first one I made, and I have added some other pieces to it. The back page was done using a technique I learned at Western Educational Activities taught by Cathie Allan called Stamp Smooshie-Smooshie.

July Tip-In

This month the tip-in theme was time. I had some ideas brewing before I started on this theme, then I found a stamp which fit into the theme, when I took a class at my Rubber Stamp store on Thursday night.

The front page is a digital background. I stamped the main Image (by Stamp Oasis) three times. I added the clock part twice then the central part 3 times to give it some dimension. The other clock pieces are from PSX.

The back page is a version of the Faux Leather technique on Trish B's Art Buzz (http://artbuzz.wordpress.com/) background noise challenge. I used gesso to cover the tissue paper after adhering it to the cardstock with glue. I started off by colouring it with Distress ink in Frayed Burlap. I added Denim distress ink and let it dry. I added a little bit of Distress Vintage Photo over the high areas of the creases. I went over it again with Broken China Distress Ink.

I added the stamped images from PSX and Magenta using Fluid Chalks, printed a quote and added it. After putting it on my desk and looking at it, I felt it still needed "something".

I rubbed Colorbox Parchment pigment ink around the edges, then added Blue Smoke Perfect Pearls over it, then buffed it with a paper towel.

I am finally happy with the back and will be sending it off to Sweetpea.

Diamonds Tip-in

The latest tip-in theme on CC Swaps is Diamonds. I found the back page easy to do, but I must have redone the front several times and was not happy with it. I finallly came up with a simple version using scrapbook paper, with no stamping for the front, and am happy with it now.

The back is stamped diamonds (Magenta stamps). and strips of stamped and embossed paper. The background scrapbook paper was stamped with a script stamp.

Tag your it

On one of my groups we are doing a monthly swap where one person gets to choose a theme and we all make something small (i.e nothing elaborate) and send it to the person.

The first one is for Carol C and the theme is Travel/vacation. I decided to use some of my paper from my handmade backgrounds and created a tip-in page.

Not sure if she does tip-ins but hope she will like it.

Latest tip-in page

The theme for the current tip-in page is Men. I don't have many masculine stamps or ephemera, so this took me a while to come up with something appropriate.

The front page is quite simple, and I could not think of anything else to add, but maybe in this case less is more!!

The back seemed to come together quite easily and I am pleased with it.
Just hope my future partner will like it.

Getting a head start

I decided to get my latest tip-in page done; the theme this time is Transportation. I struggled for a while with the back page, then finally came up with images that I was happy with and hope my partner will be pleased with the final piece.

More Tip-ins

I recently participated in another tip-in page, the theme being Paris, this was what I sent to my partner.

I also thought I would get a head start on the next tip-in and completed my Birds theme.

Women's Tip-in

I have been busy with Christmas shopping, baking, wrapping, making gifts and entertaining friends with an annual pre-Christmas celebration.

As a result, I had not completed my CC Swaps Women's Tip-in page. Tonight I sat down and finished it.

The left hand one is coloured and stamped with fluid chalk inks. The second is dye inks sprayed with bleach.

Another Tip-in Page

The current theme for the latest tip-in page over on CC Swaps is Children. For this page I used a background done with Alcohol Inks and used one of my favourite stamps for the little girl on the front.

The back is done with Fluid Chalk pads.

Circus Tip-in

I just finished my circus tip-in pages for a swap. The front and reverse pages are below. I decided that I would do the pages with a vintage type look, rather than lots of colour, only because of the images I had chosen for the swap.

Tip-In Pages

I just joined a Tip-In page monthly swap in one of my groups. I had absolutely no idea what I was going to do with this swap, because as usual, I jumped in with both feet.

I sat down tonight and gathered my cardstock, inks and rubber stamps, then I printed off some images for the theme, which is da Vinci.

After cutting and fiddling around with the various images and colours, I finally created a page with which I was satisfied.

Another Leonardo Tip in page

This page was done with fluid chalks in the background and a Leonardo script stamp was used to give some depth to it.

I stamped and coloured it  the old man image.  Added the images from the internet, and the faces are from a Da vinci scrapbook paper. Stamped the word Leonardo on a piece of cardstock coloured with the fluid chalks.
