Paper Beads

On AFTCM we are doing an extra quick swap making paper beads.

I started by cutting some strips of a magazine page and rolled them on a skewer, then covered them with versamark and clear embossing powder and embossed them, twice. I added two different colours of Opals embossing powder and embossed them. To finish them I added some fantasy film over the top and heat set it to attach it.

I had a couple of extra pieces so I did the clear embossing on both. On one I added hidden colour blue embossing powder and when it cooled added some of the new Clearsnap Smooch glitter ink.

On the second one I added some of the Clearsnap  blue Sparkle Fibers then added clear embossing powder and some seed beads then another coat of the clear embossing powder. These are the two at the  bottom.

Hat Pins

On AFTCM the list Mom proposed a fast swap - Hat Pins.

I managed to find some corsage pins at Michaels and I have lots of beads on hand, so I started creating.  I chose to colour the heads of the pins to match the bead colour families, and did it with alcohol and Pinata inks.

I unfortunately was not thinking about the fact that we are to send 6 the same to the hostess and just went on my merry way creating and enjoying the process. Here is the selection I made, but I have made another batch to send for the swap.

These are easy to make and I had fun looking through the beads and deciding what to put on each one.

Playing around

I have been out of town for over a week with no crafting supplies available, so was ready to play when I got back home. CC Swaps is hosting a bead swap, and although I have not signed up for it, I thought I would play around with some ideas. I tried some clay beads (top picture) and some paper ones (bottom Picture).

I added rub-ons and irridescent threads to the top paper bead. The left one was done with clear glass beads and copper embossing powder, and the right one with platinum UTEE and Purple glitter.
